Anatomy Talk: Anterior Myofascia, Vagus Nerve and Throat Stuff (September 25, 2024)
Explore how the anterior cervical myofascia intimately connects with the cranium, digestion, and nervous system regulation.
Wednesday, Sept 25, 2024, 6:30-7:30pm, on ZOOM (not recorded)
This is an area of great clinical interest for me, so much so we focus on it in all our curricula. The anterior neck myofascia bridges into the cranium and is involved in cranial restriction patterns. We can view the viscera as hanging from the hyoid and thus see the hyoid muscle group as an aspect of our digestive system’s function. Myofascial tension patterns in the front of the neck can wind into the torso and trunk and/or into the upper extremity. Not to mention, the thyroid, vocal cords, esophagus and vagus all running through there.
Dork out central!
